Mosinee School District Community:
The Mosinee School Board voted unanimously Tuesday night to reopen the Mosinee School District In-Person for the 2020-2021 School Year starting September 1st. A virtual option will also continue to be available to families if they so choose. Please contact your building principal directly about a virtual option if this is your choice and if you have not already signed up from earlier district communication. The initial reopening plan is attached including links to the updated health and safety measures and to all building principals emails. The School Board also, as part of the vote, acknowledged that this is a flexible, living document that has changed often and likely will continue to be updated as recommendations change. The school district reopening plan allows for full or partial closure if it becomes necessary. School District staff will be completing social distancing measures which will be shared within a few weeks via PDF but also through several videos of each building plan for social distancing.
The WIAA Board of Control voted 8-3 Thursday morning in favor of reopening all WIAA Wisconsin Sports later than normal. The Mosinee School District will be following the WIAA opening plan starting fall sports August 17th for Boys and Girls Cross Country and Girls Swim. The Mosinee School District will start seasons for Football, Boys Soccer & Volleyball on September 7th. Girls Dance will continue to practice. The delayed start to the Fall Season will require schedule changes and adjustments which will be reported out once the new schedules are finalized.
I acknowledge that the current global pandemic presents once in a lifetime challenges and concerns which I view as opportunities to continue serving the Mosinee School District community to the best of our ability. I am thankful for all comments and collaborations since the start of the pandemic, including every email and phone call. I look forward to the start of school including the sports and activities that add so much to our school community.
Respectfully,
David Muñoz
Mosinee School District
Superintendent
